Week 26 - Duke's Night

Last Sunday, was Duke's Night.  Duke's Night is the Luxembourg National Holiday.  We drove to the Gilstrap's house and parked the car in their driveway. Then we walked down to the city center to watch the fireworks.  As we were walking down a guy ran really fast by us and jumped over some hedges into the park and there were police officers running after him.  We don't know what that was all about.

While we found a nice place to watch the fireworks, Spencer and the Gilstrap's went and explored in the forest.  As they were walking around they found fireflies!  We want to go to the forest near our house and find fireflies, but it doesn't get dark until 11.

The firework show was one of the greatest firework shows we have ever seen.  It was only 20 minutes long, but it was the perfect time for a show because we didn't get bored.  The fireworks were fantastic!  The show was like a grand finale the entire time.  We had the perfect spot, which was actually really close to the fireworks.  There was a forest below where they were launching the fireworks and the forest caught on fire.

After the firework show we headed home and attended Grandma and Grandpa Saunders open house mission farewell via FaceTime. It was fun to see our cousins and family. They leave for the MTC
on Monday! We can't wait to see them!

On Thursday we went over to the landlords backyard and picked cherries. Spencer climbed high into the tree and picked the cherries that were up high.  Elina was waiting at the bottom and gobbled up all of the cherries as Spencer dropped them down.   I climbed the ladder and picked cherries at another tree. Ashton held up the bucket for me. We got to take home a bowl of cherries. We ate almost all of them because they were delicious!  Mom liked getting free cherries because at the store they would be very expensive!
