Today it was raining, but not too bad. We went to the bank and got a bank account. Then we got all of the kids their phones. After all of that Sam Gilstrap and Dad had to go to an important meeting. The kids went to the Gilstraps house and went to the park and played soccer. Kelli Gilstrap, mom, and Emilee headed to the store to buy some food. It was a very different and interesting experience.
It is different for mom because she is used to using coupons and looking for sales. She had to pay full price for everything. But we needed to spend the least amount of money possible. We just looked for the lowest price and got that item. Below is a picture of the price tags. We need to change our mind and think in Euros instead of dollars.

Another thing that is different is that everything is small! Their extra large potato chips are very small compared to our regular sized bag. The flour that is shown below is the biggest one they had. Very different than our huge bags of flour. The milk carton shown below is also the biggest size they had.

It was also very hard to know what to buy. Everything is in French. Thankfully Kelli helped us know what things are. For example we found a bottle that looked like soy sauce so we bought it. Thankfully it was! We were right! When we were looking for milk we were trying to decide what kind to get. We accidentally almost bought buttermilk but we read on the label and the word looked like buttermilk, so we didn't buy it. We also don't know what tastes good. We have no clue. We will just have to keep trying things.

| The veggies still had dirt and roots on it. It looked like they had just pulled it out of the ground. |

The meat freezer. They have pictures above then the meat in the freezer

Checking out was another different experience. What they do is they have an empty shopping cart and you put yours right next to it. The employee scans your food and puts it in the empty cart. Your old
cart becomes the next empty cart for the next person. Very smart way to do it. They also don't have plastic bags, you have to buy your own reusable bags. Shopping will be a challenge but we are up for it!

It was great to get a sense of where you are - we especially liked Jake's tour of the apartment. Lots of pigeon slow-mo's - we have them here, but we call them flying rats. Thanks for posting - we are following closely
