Week 1 Trier

Today we drove over to Trier, where Grandpa Cahoon served his mission.  We saw the Porta Nigra which is the largest Roman gate north of the Alps.  There are Roman baths and a cathedral built around 300 AD for Constantine.

We walked around the city and had lunch at Subway.  Ashton loved chasing the pigeons, but got in trouble when he scared away the birds from a homeless guy.

Ben also found out that his mission companion, Elder Koch lives about an hour and a half away.  We'll definitely go to visit him and his family!

We are having a difficult time eating because EVERYTHING is closed down for the holidays.  We are looking forward to going to a bakery and grocery store first thing tomorrow morning.
